The Ember Knight Wiki

Tludia is a major protagonist in Epic of Gilgamesh, the prequel series to The Ember Knight.

Appearance[]

Tludia has pale skin, black hair, and pink eyes. She looks very similar to Stella.

Personality[]

Tludia is a brash young woman with a strong sense of justice, eager to help other people who are in trouble, especially when Ram was attacked during the first time she saw him. Initially, she comes off as muscle-brained and tomboyish, with a big appetite and a lack of care for her things, like how she always breaks the weapons given to her. However, as the series progresses, her analytical side is slowly shown, and can be seen acquiring traits from Ram, such as becoming a strategist. During battles, she is seen to be quick-thinking and can make split-second decisions that would ultimately lead to their advantage in the fight. By the end of the story, she has become wiser and more calm and collected as compared to her first appearance.

History[]

Roughly eight years prior to Epic of Gilgamesh, Tludia survived by hunting marauders and thieves and taking their food and valuables.[1] At one point, while fighting thieves, she was saved by Candentia,[2] who convinced her to live a righteous life.[3]

At the start of Epic of Gilgamesh, Tludia was a Knight Apprentice on the Central Continent, training under Tink. However, she is expelled from her apprenticeship for breaking too many weapons and eating too much. Soon after her expulsion, Tludia comes across Ram, who is being attacked by members of Malto. She is quickly injured in her attempted heroics, but Ram decides to take care of her. He discovers that Tludia is infected with a Cursed Disease, and he resolves to cure her.

Relationships[]

Ram[]

Tludia reminds Ram of Stella, which influences his decision to save her life and cure her Cursed Disease.

Hadar[]

Tink[]

Tink was Tludia's trainer when she was an Apprentice Knight in Nijel. He was also the one who kicked her out of the program. She believed he did this because she happened to see that his hair was a wig, though, later, when he attacked Ram, Hadar, and her in order to capture Ram, he didn't really remember her.

Abilities[]

Tludia is a genius when it comes to martial arts.

The Penetrating Eye[]

Also known as "The Eye of Insight", this ability can perceive others' intentions and detect lies to some extent. Tludia shared this ability with Hinsher, even though it is a Law of the World that only one person can have it at a time.[4] This contradiction is what caused Tludia's Cursed Disease.[4]

One example application of "The Eye of Insight" is that Tludia was intuitively able to understand Hadar, even though she was not familiar with Oni sign language.

Blue Swordsmanship[]

Tludia has trained in Blue swordsmanship, even though it is inappropriate for a human.

Trivia[]

  • Tludia was 19 years old at the start of Epic of Gilgamesh.[5]
  • Tludia's name is a play on words. It is ADULT backwards, with I added in.[6]
